Pebble Beach felt it was the right time to update their web presence, and engaged Verstech to design a new web presence that whilst providing a “shop window” also gave the business routes into previously unexplored markets. A good example of this is Gift Vouchers; whilst these had traditionally sold well within the business, they were only available by phone or in person at the restaurant. Through our eVoucher system, Vouchify, we’ve been able to deliver a direct Return on Investment of over 100% inside 4 months.

The Challenge

The core selling points of Pebble Beach are the view and the food; the panoramic views over Christchurch Bay and the Needles fused with Head Chef Pierre Chevillard’s mouth watering food. Therefore, any web presence had to reflect this fusion. However, Pebble Beach is very much a destination restaurant; as a result of their location, out of town passing trade will be more limited; it became apparent that the web presence needed to go further than just showcasing the venue. We also had the challenge of integrating the site with separate booking products for table reservations & rooms reservations.


Our Creative Director led a “evolution, not revolution” of the Pebble Beach brand, subtly updating the brand and associated fonts to ensure a more modern look. From this, we then designed a web presence that met the fusion requirement. We also implemented our eVoucher system, Vouchify, which allows instant online gift voucher purchases. As a result, we’re proud to say that new revenue generated exceed the project cost inside four months.

In the time since the web presence launched, we’ve seen the restaurant named the 4th best coastal place in the UK [Evening Standard] and number 1 place to eat in the South [Daily Telegraph]; along with an interview on BBC Radio Solent.

The Product
